Hasselblad XCD 20-35mm E f/3.2-4.5 Ultra-Wide-Angle Zoom Lens

This Hasselblad XCD 20-35mm E f/3.2-4.5 Ultra-Wide-Angle Zoom Lens is designed to provide coverage for both wide and ultra-wide focal lengths, making it a versatile and valuable tool for photographers. Boasting a superior optical design, a flexible focusing module, and a high-performance leaf shutter, it can effortlessly master a variety of themes like natural landscapes, urban landscapes, vast interior spaces, and environmental portraits with unparalleled visual power. Grab this lens to carve out images that are uniquely yours and immerse yourself in vibrant stories of light and shadow.

Exceptional Optical Design, Immense Scenic Details
The lens adopts an optical structure of 16 elements in 12 groups, including three aspherical elements. It effectively suppresses aberrations and meets the high-resolution demands of the 100-megapixel sensor, delivering high-quality imaging at each focal length, and achieves stunning clarity from the centre to the edges. Every minute detail stands out; every colour is natural and authentic, and every shot embodies the intrinsic beauty of the world.

At the wide-angle end, the maximum aperture of f/3.2 is maintained, guaranteeing foreground depiction in sharp relief and a soft, delicate bokeh even in dimly lit environments.

Capture the World as You See It
The ultra-wide 20mm focal length is the widest in the Hasselblad X System.* Coupled with an f/3.2 aperture, it offers an extraordinary combination of the widest field of view, and the largest aperture within the Hasselblad medium format system. Reproduce majestic landscapes with sharp imaging and capture the grandeur of the natural world.
* As of September 2024.

Adjustable Focal Length for Unfettered Creation
One lens, infinite possibilities. From ultra-wide to wide focal lengths, it caters to most wide-angle photography scenarios. Without the need to change lenses, swiftly adjust to desired focal lengths and capture grand landscapes, sweeping interiors, or environmental portraits exactly how you envision.

Precise Focusing, Capture Instant Classics
A stepping motor, paired with the focusing drive mechanism of the gearbox and a small and light focusing lens group, more accurately, rapidly, and quietly controls the movement of the focusing lens group. Whether in autofocus or manual focus, a smooth experience is ensured. When used with the PDAF technology of a Hasselblad 100-megapixel mirrorless medium format camera, focusing is quicker and more responsive.

Fast Leaf Shutter, Striking Imagery
The lens’s small but powerful leaf shutter supports shooting with flash synchronization at all shutter speeds with a flash sync speed of up to 1/2000s. Even under mixed light sources of flash and sunlight, you can freely explore creative inspirations and freeze every shining moment.

Elegant Design, Ergonomic Feel
The lens body is crafted from metal for a subtle but timeless appeal. It is not only stable and reliable but also offers an exceptional user experience. It adopts an elegant and streamlined design with the “H” logo print engraved on both the focus ring and the zoom ring. It also features a nameplate on the barrel with branding and the “V” insignia, lending a refined and enduring beauty to your photographic journey.

Questions:

What is a leaf shutter? How does it work?
The leaf shutter is built into the lens structure. Its most significant advantage is that it can achieve flash synchronization at all speeds (e.g., flash sync speed of up to 1/2000s). This helps capture fast-moving subjects when a flash is used and is also helpful for wide-aperture portraits in strong lighting conditions or outdoors. Due to the special design of the leaf shutter, it generates significantly reduced vibration when triggered, efficiently producing quality shots.
For cameras with a focal-plane shutter, when using flash, the shutter speed is limited to 1/125s or 1/250s, posing restrictions for creativity.

Does the XCD 3,2-4,5/20-35E lens support full MF?
Yes. Full-time manual focus is always available. Adjust the focus ring at any time, regardless of whether you use AF or MF mode.

How do I correct lens distortions?
Distortions can be corrected in Phocus or other image-processing software for more accurate optical effects. The camera itself does not support lens correction.

What is the equivalent focal length of the XCD 3,2-4,5/20-35E lens?
The equivalent focal length is approximately 16-27mm.

What is the optical structure of the XCD 3,2-4,5/20-35E lens?
Sixteen elements in twelve groups, including three aspherical elements.

What focus motor does the XCD 3,2-4,5/20-35E lens use?
A stepping motor.

What is the focus type of the XCD 3,2-4,5/20-35E lens?
Internal focusing.

What is the ingress protection rating of the XCD 3,2-4,5/20-35E lens?
