Billingham 72 Camera Bag
The 72 Camera Bag is one of our smallest bags, designed for fixed prime, rangefinder and compact system (mirrorless) cameras with one small lens. Made in England with 3-layer waterproof fabric and real leather.
Travel Light
Ideal for a small camera such as a Leica M11 (with short lens), Leica Q3 or Fujifilm X100V. The slim front pocket is perfect for a passport or phone.
Internal Padding
All the internal walls have dense foam padding, including top lid and padded base to provide the ultimate protection for your equipment. The internal divider attaches with Velcro and is removable.
'Quick Release System' Front Straps
The top-grain leather front strap has the 'Quick Release System' feature. Simply slide the strap up-and-off the brass clogball at the top for quick and easy access.
Removable Shoulder Sling
The shoulder sling is made of strong, woven webbing and is adjustable in length to suit your height and shooting style. When not needed it can be removed completely.
Belt Loop
A stitched belt loop on the back of the bag allows you to store the bag on your waist, freeing your arms up to shoot photos with ease.
Sculpted Top Flap
The top flap has been sculpted to help prevent rain or snow getting into the main compartment. It is made of the same 3-layer waterproof fabric as the rest of the bag.

Will this fit a Canon or Nikon DSLR?
No! Its too small to fit any camera with a mirror inside. So a Canon 7D, 5D, 1DX or Nikon D810, D3, DF etcs are all an impossibility with this bag. Many larger mirrorless cameras are too big too.
Will this bag fit a Nikon Z50 with Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens attached?
Yes! As long as the lens is retracted before you put it in the bag.
Some of your bags have removable padded inserts. Does this bag have a removable padded insert?
No, the padding inside the 72 is sewn into the walls of the bag and is therefore not removable. However, the padded divider that attaches inside with Velcro is removable.
What is the difference between 'Canvas' and 'FibreNyte'?
In simple terms ‘Canvas’ or ‘FibreNyte’ refers to top layer of fabric on our bags – the facecloth.
‘Canvas’ is a mix of cotton and polyester. ‘FibreNyte’ refers to our face fabric that is completely synthetic. Canvas is hard wearing, FibreNyte is very hard wearing.
Both fabrics are bonded to a non-wicking polyester backing fabric with a middle layer butyl rubber – this rubber layer makes both fabrics equally (and very) waterproof. Water can’t get through that rubber layer.
Both fabrics have a similar weave - the FibreNyte looks similar to canvas. Canvas is slightly softer to the touch, FibreNyte is slightly rougher to the touch.
People tend to choose Canvas if they want the bag to age gracefully and look vintage over time. This is particularly true of people who choose our ‘Khaki Canvas’ fabric as this looks particularly lovely as it ages.
People tend to choose FibreNyte if they want the bag to look newer for longer or if they are particularly hard on their gear - for example by carrying the bag to work with them every day, doing a lot of hiking or filling it particularly full. If you are buying a black bag it’s particularly worth considering FibreNyte as it will stay looking blacker longer. Also Sage FibreNyte is particularly attractive as a color – it’s probably the most popular color among our staff!
