The Polaris is the world's first electric tripod head with an integrated camera interface controller. Polaris Astro Edition not only allows you to adjust the composition of a photo, but it enables users to program the intelligent head to capture a series of photographs, easily track and take long exposures of stars, or create high-resolution motion timelapses. Polaris also offers a wireless connection so you can do all the above remotely as well as preview, review, and download files via a dedicated app from nearly anywhere.

The Polaris features built in modes such as People Remover, Panorama, Motion Timelapse, Dynamic Exposure Timelapse, Focus Stacking, and Star Tracking. With a battery life of over 24 hours and the ability to charge during use – Polaris can shoot all day and then keep going. These modes work with a wide variety of cameras.

Polaris also has a redundant onboard and swappable microSD card slot that ensures no images are lost from a shoot. It also enables Polaris to do some rapid editing for you while in the field. Polaris can render Pathlapses, Panoramas, etc., and quickly display previously shot image on your phone.

To keep up with demanding use - Polaris is manufactured from aluminum alloy and stainless steel and is designed to work in the harshest of environments. Thanks to the high-quality build Polaris is rated at an IPX6 water-resistant performance, allowing the head to work even in torrential downpours. Despite its high-quality metal build, Polaris weighs only 1.1kg (2.5lbs), and the Astro module only adds .4kg (.8lbs) making this a very capable every day or travel tripod head. Even with its low weight Polaris can support camera rigs up to 7kg (15lbs).

Remote Control

Break the shackles of space, and you don't have to wait by the camera all then time. Polaris has a built-in wireless module (WiFi or cellular network). The photographer can make a remote connection through the mobile phone and call various functions of Polaris. Through the data cable connection between Polaris and the camera, users can also control the camera on their mobile phones, preview wirelessly, set ISO, aperture, shutter and other shooting parameters, and take photos or record videos remotely.

Timelapse

Static lapse and dynamic lapse. In the dynamic lapse mode, the photographer only needs to set the key point of the moving path, shooting intervals and camera parameters, and Polaris will do the rest.

Astrophotography

Polaris is internally integrated with gyroscopes, angle sensors, accelerometers and other sensors. In combination with sky axis accessories and mobile phone applications, Polaris has become an intelligent electric equator, which can automatically search for stars and automatically track stars for long-term exposure, helping photographers take high-quality and efficient sky shots.

Auto Star Searching

After the basic calibration steps, combined with the star database in the mobile app and AI technology, automatic star searching can be started. Polaris will automatically aim the camera lens at the target star.

Single Star Alignment

The polar alignment is required before starting to use the EQ mount. This procedure for traditional EQ mount is generally cumbersome and time-consuming. Polaris uses a faster and easier way to perform the polar alignment. Polaris obtains the longitude, latitude and orientation data of the star through the cooperation of various internal sensors, and then calculates the rotation of the polar axis by the internal processor, and further improves the shooting efficiency.

Star Tracking

In order to eliminate the influence of the earth's rotation and take a clear and sharp picture of the stars during long exposure shooting, the EQ mount function needs to be used for reverse motion compensation. Polaris works cooperatively through a variety of built-in sensors and the internal special and complex reduction gearbox and transmission kit to reach a high tracking accuracy of 0.0025 ° (9 arc seconds), which is equivalent to the rotation angle of the earth in 0.6 seconds. This means that with Polaris when we shoot the sky with long exposure, we can achieve the same result of short exposure 0.6 second, so as to get a clear and sharp picture of stars.

Auto Panorama

After setting the composition position and relevant parameters of the camera and lens, Polaris will automatically calculate the rotation angle and the number of photos taken each time, automatically rotate the gimbal and take photos, and finally stitching the photos inside to generate the panoramic photo. The auto panorama function can significantly accelerate the planning efficiency and accuracy, and help photographers efficiently complete the process of panoramic photos.

Sunrise & Sunset

Sunrise and sunset are fleeting, and the preparation time for photographers before shooting is often very tight. In the Polaris app, you can simulate the moving track of the sun, predict the sun's positions that are visually displayed on the phone's screen to help photographers compose pictures in advance. The azimuth angle and time information will be automatically sent to the Polaris. When the sun moves to that position, Polaris will start to control the camera to take pictures automatically.

Focus Stacking

For lenses with auto focus function, Polaris can drive the camera to take continuous photos with different focus points, and then automatically synthesize photos with clear focus of the whole scene, or take photos first and then select the focus.

Pedestrians Removal

It is difficult for photographers to take a clean picture of the scene because of the pedestrians or moving vehicles in the scene Polaris' pedestrian removal function can automatically remove unwanted moving objects or pedestrians in the picture and generate a clean photo.
