7" 2800nit touchscreen monitor with HDMI input & output, monitoring tools & camera control
The Shinobi 7 II combines a larger 7" HDR screen, with a calibrated peak brightness of 2800nits, and the lightweight monitor-only functions of Shinobi. Can be used in the brightest of environments to monitor signals up to 4Kp30 via HDMI. Take control of Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony cameras via USB-C, plus Z CAM cameras via optional USB-C to serial cable. It's an ideal director’s monitor, focus puller’s monitor, program or preview display for video switchers.
Professional Monitoring at Your Fingertips
The 2800 nit HDR display delivers exceptional brightness and color accuracy, ensuring you can confidently monitor exposure, focus, and framing whether you're shooting in bright sunlight or controlled studio environments. With integrated tools like false color, focus peaking, waveform analysis, and 10+ stops of dynamic range support from Log/PQ/HLG signals, you have the precision instruments needed for broadcast-quality results. The 1920 x 1080 resolution with Rec.709 color gamut provides accurate representation of your final output.
Seamless Camera Integration and Control
Take command of compatible mirrorless and DSLR cameras directly from the touchscreen using intuitive on-screen sliders for white balance, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. The touch-to-focus capability and shutter-release function enable direct photo capture from the monitor itself—ideal for HDR bracketing, focus stacking, and multi-exposure workflows. A red recording indicator confirms when your camera is capturing internally, keeping you informed at a glance.
Connectivity and Power Built for Production
Dual HDMI 2.0 ports with locking connectors, multiple USB-C inputs and outputs, and 10GbE Ethernet connectivity provide the flexibility to integrate with any professional setup. Power the monitor via USB-C PD, NP-F battery, or DC with optional battery eliminator support. On-device calibration via USB-C eliminates the need for external computers, while built-in 3D LUT support and LANC control ensure compatibility with industry-standard workflows and timecode synchronization.

Use Scenarios:
Outdoor/daylight shooting
The exceptionally bright 2800-nit display makes it easier to assess contrast, exposure, and focus when shooting outdoors in bright sunlight. HDR monitoring and comprehensive exposure tools also help users identify clipped highlights, crushed blacks, and other image problems when capturing high-dynamic-range scenes.
Director’s monitor
The large, bright display gives directors, focus pullers, and script supervisors a clear view of the image on set. Its portable design makes it easy to reposition as camera angles and production requirements change.
Log/HDR workflows
When shooting in Log, Shinobi 7 II can preview how the image may appear after grading. HDR conversion, scopes, and LUT support help users make more informed exposure and composition decisions on set.

FAQ:
Can I calibrate the display?
Yes. Shinobi 7 II supports calibration using a compatible calibrator (e.g. Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro or Plus).
What cameras does it support for remote control?
Shinobi 7 II supports USB-C camera control with a growing range of compatible Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras. As a general rule of thumb, your camera should work if it supports tethered shooting over USB-C and is running the latest firmware. Support is continually expanding through firmware updates.

What has changed from the previous Shinobi 7?
With the addition of a USB-C port it’s now possible to control supported cameras, power the monitor, and calibrate the device using a compatible third-party calibration probe (purchased separately).
Does it support LUTs?
Yes. Shinobi 7 II can receive a Log signal from the camera and offer real-time LUT (Look-Up Table) preview to approximate what the final graded image will look like in Rec.709. Custom LUTs (.cube files) can be loaded from an SD card and used in conjunction with the Shinobi’s built-in monitoring tools for precise exposure control.
