Leica Camera AG is launching its first true 35mm black-and-white film: MONOPAN 50. This high-resolution film offers 36 exposures and pays tribute to the distinctive aesthetic of early 35mm photography.

MONOPAN 50 combines “Mono” (from Leica’s Monochrom cameras), “Pan” (panchromatic sensitivity), and “50” (ISO rating). With ultra-fine grain and resolution up to 280 line pairs/mm, it offers exceptional sharpness and tonal range. Its superpanchromatic sensitivity (up to 780 nm) supports infrared and filter-based photography, ideal for capturing Leica’s signature bokeh even in bright light.

Designed to match Leica lenses like the Noctilux-M and Summicron-M, MONOPAN 50 is well-suited for landscapes, architecture, cityscapes, and travel. Compatible with all black-and-white developers and made in Germany, it combines vintage packaging with modern performance—empowering photographers to create striking, high-detail imagery.
