A camera that captures the soul of the moment, blending artistic vision with essential technology.

The Leica M11 glossy black combines the latest technology from the series model with the classic design elements that first enamored photographers in 1962 with the Leica M3 special edition. The brass top and base plates are finished with a glossy black paint finish. Over the years, frequent use creates a unique patina. This exclusive design variant is also characterized by the classic Leica engraving on the top plate, controls with a glossy black paint finish and the deliberate omission of the Leica red dot. Another stylish accent comes from the shutter release with a lustrous silver-chrome finish – a variant that was first fitted to the Leica M3. With its elaborate cross knurling on the ISO and shutter-speed dial, this special edition of the M11 features a further refinement that differs from the standard model both aesthetically and haptically.

A legend reinvented

The Leica M11, combining the experience of traditional rangefinder photography with contemporary camera technology, delivering maximum flexibility to every photographer. Featuring an exclusive new image sensor, expanded ISO range, dual memory options, extended battery life and a streamlined and intuitive menu system; the Leica M11 represents a new benchmark in digital photography as the most versatile, customizable and powerful M camera Leica has ever built.

At the heart of the M11 is a full-frame BSI CMOS sensor with Triple Resolution Technology. Raw image files in DNG and JPEG format can be recorded at 60, 36 or 18 megapixels, always using the full sensor area. The 60-megapixel option delivers unprecedented image quality and detail resolution, whereas the lower resolutions enable faster camera performance, extended burst lengths, and smaller files.

The Leica M11 has a sensitivity range of ISO 64 to 50,000; it records at 14-bit color depth and has a dynamic range of up to 15 stops. With its Maestro III processor, the Leica M11 offers a fluid and responsive operation, even at the highest resolution and image quality settings. With the optional electronic shutter featuring a shutter speed of up to 1/16,000 of a second, photographers are empowered to work with wide open apertures, in bright light, without ND filters. The M11 also marks the first time multi-field metering in rangefinder mode will be available, offering photographers a valuable tool to curate light.

Timeless and enduring design

Crafted with high-quality aluminum and a scratch-resistant matte finish, the black M11 emphasizes efficiency and ergonomics. This model is about 20% lighter than the silver-chrome version, which features a classic solid-brass top cover.

One of the best sensors in the world

Choose between 60, 36, or 18 megapixel resolution for DNG and JPG. The full-frame BSI-CMOS sensor with Triple Resolution Technology is a masterpiece of image processing. Special filter technology ensures brilliant images with Leica M-Lenses. Multifield light metering in the rangefinder mode lets photographers focus more on their subject.

High-performance processor

Enjoy fluid and responsive operation thanks to the Maestro III processor. Advanced algorithms deliver images in three resolutions using the full sensor, ensuring exceptional digital quality. Nearly endless shooting, even at 36-megapixel DNG resolution.

Capture the essence of the moment

With its manual controls and refined design, the Leica M invites photographers to engage deeply with the creative process – to thoughtfully compose each frame and savor the nuances of light and shadow. As a rangefinder camera, it offers a unique shooting experience that fosters a deeper connection with the subject. The resulting images are not merely recordings of the world; they are expressions of the photographer’s soul, imbued with a unique character and emotional resonance.

Shoot in every light

Impressive in all lighting, the M11 offers up to 15 stops of dynamic range at ISO 64. Shots have fine tonal separations, low noise, and a natural look. With a maximum ISO of 50,000, it excels in low light. The new electronic shutter allows speeds up to 1/16000s, perfect for bright conditions with fast lenses.

Zoom in to bring out the details

The integrated digital zoom feature allows you to get closer to your subjects by cropping the image in-camera. Shoot in Live View in JPG and DNG with 1.3x or 1.8x zoom. While the view is cropped to bring you closer to the action, the DNG file retains all image data from the entire sensor area, ensuring you have the full image available for post-processing.

Review on a stunning high-quality display

View images on the 2.3-million-pixel touch display with 800 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB color gamut. While the status screen offers direct access to key functions, an additional top-plate button allows for more customization options.

Simplified workflow

The deliberate omission of the removable base plate ensures quick access to the battery, USB-C port and SD card. The M11 features a UHS-II SD card slot and 64 GB internal storage, allowing you to simultaneously save images to two locations.

Extended battery life

Shoot longer on a single charge with the new 1800 mAh battery, offering 64% more power compared with the predecessor. Enhanced energy efficiency and a USB-C port for charging with most USB-C chargers make the M11 even more convenient.

Seamless connectivity

Certified for iPhone® and iPad®, it connects seamlessly via cable. Bluetooth® enables easy wireless connection to smartphones. The FOTOS app offers software updates, remote control, geotagging, and many other features for a modern photographic workflow.
