A super fast, ultra wide-angle lens

The Summilux-M 21mm f/1.4 ASPH. is the first and only lens with this size and lens speed. The outstanding quality, large angles, and compact dimensions make it a versatile performer. It works from full aperture – with an extremely shallow depth of field and a subject separated from the background - to a medium stop which can sharply and effectively reproduce entire scenes.

Extremely Wide Angle With Optimum Lens Speed

The wide-angle lens for photographing expansive scenes. Whether it’s dramatic landscapes, impressive architecture, or extreme perspectives, the 21mm Summilux not only draws every detail into the picture, but also effectively recreates the atmosphere. With its high lens speed, uncompromising sharpness, natural color rendering, and minimal aberration, you can take impressive shots that not only show where you were, but also how it felt to be there.

The Strengths of the 21mm Leica M-Lens

The outstanding lens speed, the very wide view angle, and the well-balanced body design make the Summilux-M 21 f/1.4 ASPH. the perfect choice for your low-light photography. This applies especially when you want to create expressive images with a wide-angle lens. When the aperture is fully open, the lens impresses by bringing pronounced separation to images. At the same time, it delivers incredible image sharpness across the entire field of view at medium aperture stops. If you’re looking for optimum lens speed and the highest precision for landscape photography in a robust wide-angle lens, this lens is the ideal addition to your Leica M.

Design of the Summilux-M 21 f/1.4 ASPH.

The Summilux-M 21 f/1.4 ASPH. consists of ten lenses in eight groups and five separate lenses with anomalous partial dispersion. The result of this design, developed and manufactured in Germany, is that vignetting and distortion are outstandingly corrected. Thanks to a floating element, the very high image quality is maintained even at close range. You can also use Series VIII filters on the patented, rectangular lens hood.
