My photo inspirations:
Patterns in nature Industrial-Mechanical pattern, structures, textures and color variations are what really I find a lot of fun. I frequently like pieces of a subject rather than the whole. I call the style Architextural.
My favorite photographer(s):
David Hiller WFP (World Famous Photographer)
Some of my favorite gear:
My favorite, and only camera since selling my Nikon D80 while seeing what's coming next, is my Canon Powershot G10 which I've now had for a week or so. The new Canon EOS 5D Mk II looks like interesting, and may be my next DSLR. My other toy is my Epson Pro 3800 printer. I'm also an avid Apple fan, so my Apple MacBook Pro loaded with Adobe Lightroom 2, Photoshop CS3 and a myriad of other imaging software completes the package.
More about me or my company:
I've always been kind of a geek and I've been in digital imaging since the early 90's and in the photo retail business since 1975. I moved from my hometown of Fairbanks, Alaska in 1981 joining one of Seattle's other retail photo business and then came on board with Glazers Camera in April of 2000.
I enjoy teaching a variety of classes and short workshops on some of the most popular DSLRs, Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop along with Printing and Color Management. I really enjoy experimenting with the variety of inkjet printing papers that we carry, especially with the newest ones coming out from Epson, Ilford and others. I've also had the recent honor of helping to update the soon to be published 6th Edition of "Digital Photography for Dummies" book from Wiley Publications as well as doing the Technical Editing for that book, and the soon to be published "Canon Rebel XS/1000D for Dummies" book and have recently been asking to help with a "Nikon D90 for Dummies" book.
Photography and computers are but one of my many expensive hobbies. I also enjoy woodworking and cooking, so my hard earned money also goes into my addiction for power tools and cookware.
